1. Salicylic Acid

- Seems like Amazon only sells these as 2% Salicylic acid

2. Retinoid

- Seems like this varies between 2% – 5%.
- Doctor friend verified that even though this could work equally as well as Salicylic Acid above, Retinoid is more variable. There are many more different kinds, prescription strengths, and quality. Therefore, the chances that Amazon has the best quality one is a gamble.

3. Alpha hydroxy acid

- Think this is more of a acne treatment vs. an acne scar treatment.
- Looks like there’s a 14% option but there’s also a 40%(!) option? Jesus. I would recommend starting from the 14% option first… probably a smart idea.
- Alpha hydroxy acid = Synonymous with Glycolic Alpha hydroxy acid?

4. Lactic acid

- Think this is more of a acne treatment vs. an acne scar treatment.

- CeraVe – interesting option here: This one combines both Glycolic Alpha hydroxy acid and Lactic acid. Unsure what the percentage split between Glycolic Alpha hydroxy acid and Lactic acid is.
I’m going to try some of them out and then write a review on if it works or not. If it works great, if not I will move on to the next one.

Update:
So I’ve been using this acne scar healing cream called Mederma Advanced. The active ingredient is Allantoin.
That has been working wonders and has healed my scars significantly, almost 90%. I googled for the generic version of Allantoin on Amazon and so far have not found any good results. However, if I do I will let you all know.
